Prayer of the Holy Father John Paul II for families

God, from whom comes all fatherhood in heaven and on earth, father, you are Love and Life, make it happen, that every human family on earth through your Son, Jesus Christ, “born of a woman” and by the Holy Spirit, the source of Divine Mercy, it became a true abode of life and love for more and more generations.
Make it happen, that your grace may guide the thoughts and actions of spouses and all families in the world.
Make it happen, that the young generation may find in their families a strong support for their humanity and its development in truth and love.
Make it happen, that love, strengthened by the grace of the Sacrament of Matrimony, may be stronger than all weaknesses and crises, which our families often go through.
Come on finally – we implore this through the Holy Family of Nazareth – that the Church may fruitfully fulfill her mission in families and through families among all nations on earth.
Through Christ our Lord, which is the Way, The Truth and the Life for ever and ever. Amen.
