Litany of humility
Free me, Jesus of thirst, to be appreciated
Free me, Jesus of thirst, to be liked
Free me, Jesus of thirst, to be glorified
Free me, Jesus of thirst, to receive honors
Free me, Jesus of thirst, to be praised
Free me, Jesus of thirst,
to be elected before others
Free me, Jesus of thirst, to seek my advice
Free me, Jesus of thirst, to be recognized
Oh Jesus, meek and humble of heart, listen to me
Free me, Jesus, for fear of humiliation
Free me, Jesus, for fear of contempt
Free me, Jesus, for fear of being disciplined
Free me, Jesus, for fear of being forgotten
Free me, Jesus, for fear of being ridiculed
Free me, Jesus, for fear of being hurt
Free me, Jesus, for fear of being suspected
Free me, Jesus, for fear of rejection
And also, Jesus, grant me this grace, I wish I could
And that others would be loved more, than me
And that others may be valued higher than me,
And that others might win in the eyes of the world, and I would be losing
And that others will be elected, and I would be left behind
And that others may be praised, and I would be unnoticed
And that others would be considered better than me in everything
And that others may become holier than me
As long as I am only so holy, as i should.
O Jesus, meek and humble of heart, listen to me
