Confession of faith

I believe in one God, / The almighty father, / Creator of heaven and earth, / all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord, Jesus Christ, / The only-begotten Son of God, / which of the Father is born before all ages. God from God, / Light from light, / True God from true God.

Born, not created, / consubstantial with the Father, and through him all things were made.

He is for us, people / and he came down from heaven for our salvation. / And by the power of the Holy Spirit he took flesh of the Virgin Mary / and became a man.

He was crucified also for us, / under Pontius Pilate he was martyred and buried. / And he rose again on the third day, / as the Scriptures declare.

And he ascended to heaven; / he is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead; / and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, / Lord and Giver of Life, / which comes from the Father and the Son, / Who, together with the Father and the Son, is worshiped and glorified, / who spoke through the Prophets.

I believe in one, holy, universal and apostolic Church, / I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.

And I look forward to the resurrection of the dead. / And eternal life in the world to come. Amen.
