Repentance

It is known, that he would not be sincerely regretted, who only mindlessly reads a prayer from a prayer book. You have to experience grief in the depths of your soul. So look for a moment at the image of the Crucified Lord Jesus and with your words, apologize for his sins, which you have committed. Tell him, that despite your weaknesses, you love him above all else.

Prayer of Regret

Lord Jesus, through your death you reconciled us with the Father and you saved us. You have become the spotless atoning sacrifice for my sins and the sins of the whole world; hear me and have mercy on me.

You came into the world, to save sinners. You became poor for us, that we may become rich through your poverty. You call everyone to yourself, who are weary and burdened, to refresh them. You have the power to forgive sins; hear me and have mercy on me.

You are risen and you are seated at the right hand of the Father, to intercede for us. For everyone, who obey you, you become the author of salvation. You will judge the living and the dead; have mercy on me.

You are our only way to the Father, you are our wisdom from God, justice and salvation. You came into the world, that we may have full life. Good shepherd, who you gave your life for me, have mercy on me. Amen.
