Jesus Christ calls people to a community of life with the Holy Trinity
You feel good in your family, you are looking for colleagues and friends - you feel good among them. And you see, that people all over the world are coming together, strive for unity (OUR, UNESCO). You also know, that God saves people by creating a community out of them, your people of God.
Where does this desire for community and unity come from? ? Why did God choose this way of salvation? ?
The new life is communion with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit
Let us read carefully Jesus' conversation with Nicodemus, which the Church reads on the Solemnity of the Holy Trinity (year A).
,,There was a man among the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, Jewish dignitary. He came to Him at night and told Him : « Rabbi, we know, that you came from God as a teacher. For no one could make such signs, what you do, if God were not with him »" […]. Jesus replied : ,,Verily, i tell you, unless anyone is born of water and spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. To, what was born of the flesh, it is the body, a to, what is born of the Spirit, is a ghost. Do not be surprised, that I told you : You have to be born again " […].
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, to everyone, who believes in him, he did not die, but he had eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world for this, that the world would condemn, but for that, that the world may be saved through Him. Who believes in Him, it is not condemned ; and who does not believe, has already been condemned, because he did not believe in the name of the only-begotten Son of God " (J 3, 1-2. 5-7. 16-18).
This "new birth" of water and the Holy Spirit takes place through baptism. The Father makes them, Son and Holy Spirit, in the name of which everyone is baptized. Through this "new birth" we unite with God, we participate in the life of the Father and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is caused by the eternal love of the Father, who sent his Son for our salvation and sanctification by the Holy Spirit.
"Take a look, what love the Father has given us : we have been called children of God : and we really are " (1 J 3, 1). “You have received the spirit of adoption as sons, in which we can cry out : Abba, Father" (Rz 8, 15).
So God saves us by creating one community, one people of God out of all people. For He is One Himself, at least in three persons. He is one in the diversity of Persons. He is the Creator of all people and wants to unite everyone with himself. And that is why he has given us this desire for community and unity.
Teaching about the Holy Trinity in the Church
Over the centuries, the Church has sought to understand better and better the revelation about the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Church teaching about God : Father, Son and Holy Spirit, uses the term "person".
We call such a person a person, which thinks, love, desires, recognizes. But we cannot understand the Divine Persons humanly. At people, if there are three people, it is also three people, yet with God there are three Persons * but there is only one God. And this is a great mystery of faith for us. We call it the mystery of the Holy Trinity.
The Church also teaches us about the relationship of these people. Syn, which John also calls "the Word", comes from the Father. The Holy Spirit comes from the Father and the Son. These people are equal in everything, that is, there is one nature in God,
Although all the works of God were created through the entire Holy Trinity, however, we thank the Father in a special way for this, that he made us, To the Son of God, that he redeemed us, and to the Holy Spirit, that he sanctified us.
Our faith in the Holy Trinity is professed by the whole Church in the liturgy. All prayers are addressed to the Father through the Son in the Holy Spirit. We confess this faith publicly during Holy Mass. "I believe in one God", and also making the sign of the cross. In the Eucharistic Assembly, that is, in the Mass., we form one family of God's children and we are a sign of the unity of the Holy Trinity for the world. Holy Trinity is dedicated every Sunday, and especially 1 Sunday after Paschal Pentecost.
How will I answer God ?
By faith you have come to know one God : Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and through baptism you have received a share in the life of the Holy Trinity. This love, which unites you to the Holy Trinity, makes you her witness in the world and co-worker of God's plan. While participating in Mass. and in your private prayer you remember the Holy Trinity ? Do you contribute to unity among people by your actions?, or do you destroy this unity ?
I express my gratitude to God, that he gave me a share in the life of the Holy Trinity :
,,Glory be to the Father and to the Son, and the Holy Spirit, God, who is and who was, and who will come " (Lovely. Holy Trinity after 2 read. - year A).
■ Think:
1. What the "new birth" gives us ?
2. How the Church explains the mystery of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit ?
3. When and how do we profess our faith in the Holy Trinity ?
4. What the Eucharistic Assembly expresses ?
■ Remember:
19. Why Christ revealed to us the mystery of the Holy Trinity ?
Christ revealed to us the mystery of the Holy Trinity, that we may share in the Father's life by faith and baptism, Son and Holy Spirit and contributed to uniting all people with God.
20. How the Church explains the mystery of the Holy Trinity ?
The Church teaches, that there is one nature in God, but there are three Persons : God Father, The Son of God and the Holy Spirit.
■ Task :
1. Learn prayers by heart and say them at least sometimes during the prayer :
"I believe in you, God alive,
The only true one in the Trinity,
I believe it, revealed something, God,
Your word cannot confuse ".
2. I will consider, how, in my surroundings, I can contribute to unity.
